Jammu, June 10: In a significant order the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Ashwani Kumar Sharma directed Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch Jammu to report regarding the steps taken by Crime Branch Jammu to ascertain the genuineness of experience certificate dated March, 22, 2016 allegedly issued by Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Udgir District Latur (Maharashtra) in favour of Dr. Sagar S. Gadhage on the basis of which the Jammu Municipal Corpora-tion has allotted a multi-crore contract in his favour to carry out the work of ABC (Animal Birth Control) Programme/ ARV (Anti-Rabies Vaccination) of stray dogs in all the 71 Wards of JMC.
These court directions were passed in a complaint lodged by Hem Lata Karki, Animal Welfare Activist wherein she has submitted that she lodged a comprehensive complaint to the SSP Crime Branch Jammu on January, 20, 2018 wherein she sought registration of FIR against Dr. Sagar S. Gadhage and the officers/officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation who facilitated Rs.4.00 crore contract on the basis of fake experience certificate in favour of Dr. Sagar S. Gadhage.
Advocate appearing for the complainant submitted that more than five months have elapsed since the lodging of the complaint but there is no headway in the matter. He further submitted that the President SPCA Udgir vide Reference No.SPCA/ABC/ 2017-18/06 dated April, 15, 2017 has denied the issuance of the experience certificate in favour of Dr. Sagar S. Gadhage.
After considering the submissions CJM directed Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch Jammu to report regarding the steps taken by Crime Branch Jammu to ascertain the genuineness of experience certificate. The Court further directed that the status report in this regard be filed through Chief Prosecuting Officer by or before the next date of hearing i.e. June, 30, 2018.
