Kulgam, June 17: Suspected militants on late Sunday evening fired upon a government employee in Kelam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district.
Reports said that the militants fired upon the employee from a close range near his residential house in Kilam village of the district.
SSP Kulgam, Harmeet Singh confirmed the incident.
He said identified the injured as Iqbal Kawa and said that he has been shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment.
However, the doctors at District Hospital Anantnag declared him brought dead.
Iqbal according to officails was a government employee and was working in Consumer Affairs department.
Soon after the incident whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. |
