Early Times Report

Jammu, June 22: All eyes are on Governor NN Vohra to see whether he acts against overstaying police officials who enjoyed political patronages.
According to sources in the police department, some police officials have been enjoying overstay at a particular place without being touched.
"Some police officials, especially in Kashmir division are over staying in particular wings and area", said a source, adding that they are enjoying political patronages.
In a glaring example, a police officer who completed his probation as Station House Officer in a particular district and after completing his probation he was posted SDPO in the same district.
The tale of the overstay of the said officer doesn't end here, as after being promoted as DySP he serves at various places in the same district as SDPO.
Sources said that after DySP, the said officer in question got promoted as Superintendent of Police (SP) and was again posted in the same district as chief of the district.
For last many years, the said sycophant officer is sticking in the same district because of political patronage.
And now the onus of cleaning this plague of overstaying in the police department in on the Governor who is believed to be adamant to his decisions and actions.
