| Custodian land grabbed, shops constructed, local administration assumes criminal silence | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 24: The administration of Sub-Division Akhnoor is seemingly not in a mood to act against the alleged land grabber who constructed shops on custodian land in Akhnoor Town.
According to sources, a land grabber allegedly started constructing shops on custodian land following which the previous Tehsildar stopped the construction work when complaints were lodged with the local administration of the area.
Sources further alleged that after transfer of the said Tehsildar, the violator again started construction work on the said shops situated on custodian land.
"Again the compliant in the regard was filed with the present Tehsildar who was also directed by the higher-ups to stop the work and erect a sign board mentioning that it was custodian property", said a source adding that acting on the instruction the Tehsildar Akhnoor installed a sign board there.
Sources claimed that the violator in connivance with the local administration uprooted the sign board and started the balance construction work of the shops and even managed installation of shutters of the shops.
"All this is going under the nose of local administration that failed to act against the said land grabbers which clearly showed that the local administration has personal interest in this regard" said a local. |
