Former HM gives tainted Principal Unani College

Jammu, June 24: The former health minister misused his power and appointed a tainted, ineligible candidate as In-charge Principal of Unani College Ganderbal.
Reliable sources of ISM department informed Early times that the then Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education has submit a proposal to appoint Principal of Government Medical College Srinagar as Principal Government Unani College Ganderbal , in addition to her own duties.
But astoundingly the then Minister rejected their proposal and directed the administration to assign the charge of the post of Principal government Unani College, Ganderbal to his blue eyed posted Secretary (Technical) Health and Medical Education Department. The Health and Medical Education Department as per direction of the then minister issued order vide no: 157-HME of 2018 dated 23-02-2018 in which the officials shall hold the additional charge of the post of Principal Government Unani College, Ganderbal, Kashmir in addition to his own duties till further orders.
A month back of holding addition charge of principal of Unani College, in a cabinet meeting the officials was transferred from Secretary (Technical) Health and Medical Education Department to Commissioner Food Safety Jammu and Kashmir.
The Principal Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education Department on April 10, 2018 has written to Minister concerned that we may, if approved, give the charge of Principal Government Medical College Unani Ganderbal to the Principal GMC Srinagar has been done in case of Ayurvedic College Jammu but surprising the Minister on April 24, 2018 has refused it and directed the administration to retained the charge of Principal Unani College to Commissioner Food Safety Jammu and Kashmir for the time being.
"As per direction of the then health Minister, the administration modify previous government order and issued another order in which Commissioner Food Safety shall hold the charge of Principal Unani Medical College, Ganderbal in addition to his own duties till further orders", sources said, adding that this order proves that the then Minister wants to give charge of Principal Government Unani Medical College to his blue eyed not any other officials.
However, the Minister blue eyed who is not eligible for Principal post, as per rules the qualification and experience prescribed for the post is Professor, Minimum five year administrative experience, Original Published work in any subject of Unani.
For setup of Ayurvedic and Unani College in state, government has already appointed Nodal Officers for both Colleges. As per rule, government appointed Principal for the College at the time when first batch was started but in case of Unani College, the then Minister appointed Principal for Unani College seven months earlier of first batch which will be started in the month of September -October 2018.
Sources alleged that the official headed JK ISM department for the last 14 years. Since, he has been holding the chair the development of AYUSH nowhere in sight. During his tenure the official had done many irregularities and many enquiries pending against him.
