| Official sells govt ration in black | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, June 24: One of the official of Tehsil supply officer rank in Mendhar sub-division is allegedly involved in black marketing of Government ration meant for the locals, source said here today
They said Surankote police in last month seized 100 bags of government rice which was meant for local supply in sub division Mendhar. The ration was allotted to a Tehsil supply officer from food cooperation of India Poonch store. But the official sold same in black in midway for monetary benefits depriving the locals of government ration. On a tip off Surankote police raided several places including office of Assistant Director Food and seized many records including 100 bags rice of Government ration supply. The police source saud that one of TSOs of Mendhar sub-division is on our radar and efforts are on to initiate a legal action against him. An FIR vide No. 91 stands registered in this regard at Police station Surankote.
Since there was cry among the people as the stores of ration in sub division were out of stock and the supply meant for locals was being sold out in black by the TSO. People have made an appeal to SSP Poonch to initiate an investigation of high level in the matter and book the culprits who will be found involved in the scam . |
