7/13/2018 10:22:23 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 13: All MGNREGA Employees Association of Jammu province president Sandeep Kalotra talking to reporters that the MGNREGA employees strike today entered the fifth day at different districts demanding regularization of their jobs. "We announced the extension of their strike/protest by further 96 hours while the deadlock on negotiations between the government and the protesting employees continues," he said.
Kalotra exclaimed that they will again take to streets and resume the path of agitation "We have put our demands so many times to the RDD higher authorities which have not been fulfilled till date. The government is laying with the interests of youth and not paying any heed towards their demands and forcing them to take aggressive steps, which would be harmful for everyone, especially needy and poor people. Because of negligent approach, non-seriousness and callous attitude of Government leads to not fulfilling long pending genuine demands and urged the present Government to Fulfill the genuine demand as job policy.
Sandeep said that government has framed a job policy for the regularization the services of all contractual, consolidated, casual and daily rated workers working in various departments but it is unfortunately that the MGNREGA employees has been totally ignored by the government. Prominent among others as General Secretary Tariq Zara, including other Mohd.Aslam, Satwant Singh, Sajad, Happy, Abinash said they won't let the government "trick us" into calling off the strike without giving a written assurance.
