Guv orders immediate overhaul of grievance redressal mechanism

SRINAGAR, July 17: To ensure speedy redress of public grievances, the Governor's Secretariat today said that the Advisors to the Governor shall hear the public grievances every week at Jammu and Srinagar.
"For speedy redressal of all complaints and grievances, and to ensure outcome-oriented resolution of genuine complaints and grievances, the three Advisors to the Governor shall meet and hear the grievances of individual citizens, delegations, deputations and civil society organizations both at Jammu and Srinagar regularly. They shall also hold review meetings to address to issues and grievances which get escalated to the Governor's Secretariat" said a communiqué issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
It said the Advisors shall, apart from public interactions, take stock of the grievances pertaining to their departments and review outcome-based disposal of the complaints with the Nodal Officers of the departments under their control.
As per the instructions issued by the Governor N N Vohra in this regard, Advisor to Governor B B Vyas shall hear public grievances from 10 am to 12 noon every Monday at JK Governor's Grievance Cell at Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar and from 10 am to 12 noon at Banquet Hall Jammu every Friday.
Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai shall hear public grievances from 10 am to 12 noon every Thursday at JK Governor's Grievance Cell at Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar and from 10 am to 12 noon at Banquet Hall Jammu every Monday.
Advisor to the Governor, K Vijay Kumar shall hear public grievances from 10 am to 12 noon every Wednesday at JK Governor's Grievance Cell at Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar.
As per these instructions, the J&K Government Grievance Cell will now be called "J&K Governor's Grievance Cell" and shall function both in Srinagar and Jammu, under the administrative control of the Governor's Secretariat. Principal Secretary to the Governor shall be responsible for the overall functioning of the Cells at both the capital cities.
