Kishtwar July 20: After threatening the journalist, union leaders and unemployed youths, the Kishtwar police once again has come in the center of the storm over the allege custodial killing of a 40 year old Javed Ahmed Malik son of Mohammad Khalil Malik resident of Baharat Doda in police custody in Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar District.

As per the details available with “Early Times” the angry protestors held a strong protest against the allege custodial killing and block the road at Chatroo bus stand for hours together demanded action against the guilty persons involved behind the killing of the deceased Javed Malik. However the police officials at Police Station Chatroo denied the public allegations added the deceased was accused in bovine smuggling case and was arrested by the police last night and while shifted to Primary Health Center Chatroo for routine medical checkup, the deceased escaped from police custody—and while escaping he falls; resulted into his death.

The angry protestors later also shifted the dead body of the deceased and put it on the road demanding justice for the deceased by registering an FIR against the guilty police officials under murder charges.

The protestors were raising slogans against the police and administration for their in action in the case. They also denied allegations of bovine smuggling against those already in custody added that police is unnecessary harassing the people with only motive to mint money from them. They said that the police even demanded Rs. 50000 from them in lieu of non registration of FIR.

Speaking to “Early Times” Mohammad Abdullah Bhanday, the relative of the deceased said that he (Deceased) has gone to police station Chatroo for obtaining police report on bail application of some of his known persons arrested by the Chatroo Police in allege bovine smuggling case registered by Chatroo police in case FIR No. 26 of 2018 U/S 188 RPC dully marked by the local judge at Kishtwar.

He inform that instead of filling a report as per the court directions, the concern police station illegally detained him after the deceased allegedly refuse to pay graft of Rs. 5000.

He said that despite repeated request to the officials of concern police station, they did not release him added that in the afternoon today, they came to know about his death under mysterious circumstance.

Denied the police theory, Bhanday said that the deceased was a handicapped person and cannot run around 3-4 KM since the place of incident as reported by the police is at the distance of 304 KM from Primary Health Center Chatroo.

“This is simply a murder—a custodial killing—we only want registration of FIR against SHO, Munishi of Police Station Chatroo and other guilty persons” said Abdullah Bhanday. He said that SP Kishtwar is allegedly patronizing the guilty police officials by presenting a concocted story which is far from the truth. He called upon the Governor N N Vohra to intervene into the matter and get the accused punished.

The angry protestors had also heated arguments with the senior police officers present at the spot. The deceased is said to be the relative of former R&B Minister Abdul Majeed Wani.

Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar who also reaches the spot termed the death of Javed Ahmed Malik as a cold blooded murder and seeks justice for the deceased. He said that the deceased has no link with the case and was brutally murder. He also denied police version and demanded immediate registration of an FIR against the guilty police officer. He said that till police did not register the FIR and did not arrest the accused police personal, they will not bury the dead body.
