SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Despite clear cut orders from Governor Narendra Nath Vohra led state dispensation to cancel attachments in the government departments scores of teachers across the valley are enjoying their attachment in the summer capital and other district headquarters.
Sources told Early Times that although orders for detaching the staff have been issued no follow up action has been taken in many of the cases. They said the detachment orders have been virtually rendered irrelevant since the blue-eyed teachers are using the influence of one person or the other.
"People as a whole welcomed the order of detaching the teachers attached at Srinagar or other district headquarters. It was expected that the orders would be implemented in letter and spirit, but that was not to be. Influential teachers continue to make merry since they have not been touched upon so far," said sources.
Sources said that in Gulab Bagh Zone alone more than 20 teachers working in different educational institutes continue to be attached. The privileged lot is yet to be detached thus giving an impression that rules are meant for fools in Jammu & Kashmir.
"Teachers attached or deployed in educational institutes like Boys Higher Secondary School Hazratbal, Girls High School Hazratbal and Boys Middle School Habak are yet to be moved to their original places of posting. Although, the orders have been issued but they have not been implemented as yet," said sources.
Sources said that some of the teachers have been attached or deployed for the past two years and still then they are refusing to move to their original places of posting. While most of the teachers are in real posted in South Kashmir, there are others who are actually posted in areas falling under Central Kashmir and North Kashmir. These teachers are at present discharging their services in the Gulab Bagh Zone of summer capital of state.
"There are few teachers who managed to get themselves posted in the Gulab Bagh despite the fact that their actual posting is at places like Uranhall-Anantnag, Dooru-Anantnag, Awantipora-Pulwama, Tarzoo-Sopore, Nundreshi Colony-Bemina (Budgam Zone), Rambagh Zone-Srinagar and Gund Jehangir in Bandipora district," said sources.
Although, Zonal Education Officer Gulab Bagh issued an order on 10-7-2018 cancelling all the attachments and relieving the attached officials there is no change on the ground. As many as 11 teachers were ordered to have been relieved from this Zone but none of the detached teachers have joined their substantive places of posting.
"Among the detached officials six are teachers, four are RRTs and one is a master. These officials were posted in educational institutions located in Wanihama, Habak, Zakura, Hazratbal, Dangarpora, Buchpora and Bangi Mohalla areas of Gulab Bagh Zone," said sources.
