Drug peddler held with 30 grams heroin

Jammu, August 5: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', launched against drug peddlers by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Gangyal police today claimed to have
Police spokesman said that Police Party of Gangyal police station led by SI Niyat Ali-SHO Gangyal raised a surprised Naka at Model Town, Gangyal.
"During naka, police party signalled to stop the scooty bearing registration number JK02BS-2344 which was coming from Satwari towards Kunjwani to stop but the scooty rider had tried to break the naka in order to flee from the spot but was stopped after chased by the alert cops and", said spokesman adding that on questioning he disclosed his name as Gurdit Singh of Model Town, Gangyal.
On his personnel search, police party recovered 30 Gram Heroin and the said accused was arrested along with Heroin, said spokesman.
In this regard a case under FIR No. 68/18 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered and investigation has been started. The arrest was made by SI Niyat Ali-SHO Gangyal under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas-SDPO Gandhi Nagar and in-charge SP South-Vinay Kumar.
