Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 5: Panun Kashmir (PK) organized a seminar on the topic "Governor's Rule in J&K, Past Failures, Present Prospects." here today at Press Club of Jammu. Prominent citizens from different walks of life in Jammu city participated in the seminar. Prof Hari Om made the opening presentation and said the present governor's rule in the state is a great opportunity for government of India to correct its policy on J&K which has seen a dangerous drift in recent years. Prof Hari Om said that entire Jammu province is seething in anger and it is high time to initiate policies to calm down the situation. "Ordering CBI enquiry in the Rasana case be one decisive step to assuage the public feelings." Prof Shailendra Singh while addressing on the topic said the most dangerous trend in the state in the recent past has been the growing Islamist Radicalization in the state mainly in Kashmir valley.
Emerging leader of Jammu and Chairman of IkkJutt Jammu Ankur Sharma said that the grim reality of Jammu and Kashmir is that it has been converted into a Muslim State using the democratic set up and minorities living in the state have been converted into enslaved subject people.
Dr Agnishekher, convenor PK, urged the Governor to move decisively towards recognizing the genocide inflicted on the Hindus of Kashmir and recast the policy of the government in such a way that instead of reducing the issue of religious cleansing and internal displacement as an issue of mere economic package create a comprehensive policy of reversing the genocide of Hindus of Kashmir.
Dr Ajay Chrungoo, chairman PK, urged the government to realize why its policies are failing consistently with regard to Jammu and Kashmir. He said the leaders of India have always shirked to recognize the problem in Kashmir as a religious separatism.
