Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 7: Expressing serious concern over casual approach by the officers, the State High Court dire cted the Chief Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir to issue instructions to ensure all the officers of the Government to appear in proper dress before it.
The directions were issued by a bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey on Tuesday after finding the Assistant Executive Engineer, Electric, Maintenance & RE Wing, Sub-Division, Anantnag; Assistant Executive Engineer, Electric Maintenance and RE Wing, Sub-Division, Bijbehrra, alongwith Executive Engineer, Electric Maintenance and RE Division, Anantnag, were not in proper dress.
The officers had appeared in person in compliance to the court's directions on 16 July this year.
On court's asking, the Government Advocate Hakim Aman submitted that he had already apprised these Officers to be in proper dress while appearing before the Court, but, despite that, they have not adhered to his instructions. "The Chief Secretary of the State of Jammu & Kashmir is expected to register the concern of the Court as regards the casual approach adopted by the Officers who, as and when required, are asked to appear before any Court of law," the court said, adding, "In this regard, the Chief Secretary shall issue necessary instructions to all the Officers of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to be in proper dress as and when they have to appear in any of the Courts in the State of Jammu & Kashmir."
