SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Engineer turned militant Khursheed Ahmad Malik who was killed just 48-hours after he joined the militant ranks, has figured in the shortlist for Sub-Inspector post in Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday.
According to list Khursheed, has figured on serial number 1913 under roll number 217291101238 in General Category for Sub Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Malik, 23, of Aarbal Nikas in Pulwama district was killed along with his aide during a night-long gun battle with the forces in North Kashmir's Sopore area on Friday. The gunfight at Dursoo village left army man, Sepoy Sawar Vijay Kumar, dead.
Malik had recently completed his engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and had also qualified GATE exam. Malik, who until a few days ago was living by his ambition of becoming a KAS officer, had left his home last Tuesday morning to apply for the recently announced KAS exam.
