LA's tainted babu yet to face deptt action
10 days after FIR, LA Sectt awaits
8/7/2018 11:52:15 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 7: The influence of tainted Under Secretary Legislative Assembly can be gauged from this: even after 10 days after an FIR was lodged against him by the Crime Branch of police for duping many people on false promise of providing government jobs, the LA Secretariat is yet to receive official communication from the Crime Branch about FIR for departmental action.
However, the LA Secretariat, taking cognizance of newspaper reports about FIR by Crime Branch, had issued a notice to the official seeking his explanation on the incident. But no official communication about FIR has been received till date, raising questions on the investigating agency.
Sources informed that the tainted official enjoys strong support in political and bureaucratic quarters due to which he managed to evade departmental action against himself. "Otherwise, he would have been suspended as per rule books if communication had been send to the LA Secretariat by CB," said sources.
Pertinently, the Crime Branch had registered FIR No. 30/2018 U/S 420, 471,120-B RPC r/w 5(2) P.C Act on 27-08-2018 against Under Secretary LA for taking Rs 4 lakh from two persons on promise of providing job to them and giving them fake and forged appointment orders in Rural Development Department.
When contacted, Secretary LA, Rattan Lal Sharma admitted that the department has not received any official communication from the Crime Branch till date about the FIR against one of his employees.
"We have come to know through newspapers that the Crime Branch has lodged FIR against Under Secretary for duping some persons. We have sought an explanation from the official to clear his stand on the issue within ten days," Sharma said.
When asked about the departmental inquiry, Sharma said that an inquiry can be initiated only when his office will get communication from Crime Branch.
