DDPS Shanti Nagar conducts plantation drive

Jammu, Aug 8: Students of Dewan Devi Public School Shanti Nagar Jammu, launched a plantation drive in the school campus on Wednesday to spread awareness about the need of plantation to save environment.
The drive was started by Administrator of School Ashwani suri,on the occasion the Ashwani suri said that "Schools are involved to teach the younger generation about their duty towards society to keep their future safe and making them aware that by planting trees the carbon imprints shall remain under control". He further said that the paramount importance of tress in providing a cozy habitat for human race has ever been increasing with time. It is our solemn duty to conserve the flora for future generations, he added. On this function Chief Guest Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust President Mahant Rohit Shastri highlighted their views on the importance of plantation drive which helps in preventing landslides, recharging the ground water level and preventing soil erosion to which Jammu and Kashmir is facing, Shastri said that it is the duty of every individual to take care of our environment and preserving it for the future generations. Good life will come only when we have a healthy environment to live in. He also urged every single citizen to plant a tree in the name of each child in their family for a better future.
