Jammu, Aug 8: NSS units of Government College for Women Udhampur in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under the guidance of Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal GCW Udhampur organized different activities in the backdrop of Swachhta Pakhwara (w.e.f. 1st Aug to 14th Aug 2018).
In the course of the same on 07-08-2018, volunteers cleaned arts block and main area in its vicinity. All the volunteers along with NSS programme officers took an active part in the event. Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal GCW udhampur mentioned that cleanliness should begin from institutions and should definitely reach to society because students in general and NSS volunteers in particular are the ambassadors of our society.
The volunteers along with Prof. Swarna Bhougal (NSS Programme officer) paid a visit to the adopted village (Sial-Sallen). Predominantly, volunteers involved the locals of the village in cleanliness and related activities.
They also sensitized the residents regarding the significant of swachhta in our day-to-day life. Moreover, it was also observed that village is the right platform to initiate these sorts of activities thereby making it a regular feature on grassroots level. |
