8/8/2018 10:55:40 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, Aug 8: People of Darhal tehsil and adjoining areas, who have voted in favour of last Assembly Election, have alleged that their area was fully neglected by the previous coalition government lead by Mehbooba Mufti. Darhal constituency is being represented by Ch, Zulfikar Ali (PDP) and according to inhabitants of Darhal they were ignored by the previous government as well as by the district administration.
Now the senior citizens and the common people of Darhal and adjoining areas have high hopes with the Governor's regime and have appealed to the Governor to pay attention towards their demands.
"As for as tourism is concerned Darhal area has many eye catching areas, pastures and shortest route to ' seven lakes' situated in Pir Panjal mountain ranges at a height of 13500 feet from sea level" said Captian (retd) Azam Malik.
He added as the summer and spring seasons are in full swing the tourists can be attracted to eye catching &deceitful trek surrounded by beguiling landscapes to pastures like Shakarmarg, Chamb, Doodhwali, Nandarsar, Chasari, Kharimarg, Girjan, Bela, Sarota, and Jabbar. "A 15 kilometre road from Darhal-Budhkhanari to Shakarmarg was proposed by the previous government but for some political gains the road is yet see the light" said a senior citizen.
He added Prime Minister is very interested to develop tourism in all over the country but we cannot understand that why we are being ignored. "Either the proposed road or Barmiwali Darhal to Sharmarg road should be constructed so that the lush green pasture and lakes may easily be trekked/visited by the tourist thus uplifting the economic standard of the people of this area.
The senior and prominent citizens today met with the media fraternity at Rajouri and expressed their concern/ resentment against the previous governments for neglecting their area/ demands. People of Darhal have also resented shortage of staff at J&K Bank branch and alleged especially senior citizens facing many problems. They have also demanded action against those who have encroached the old bus stand land resulting in frequent traffic jams in the town. We have also appealed to the senior officials of Education department to take the control/possession of 10 Kanal land donated free of cost by the inhabitants of villag Leeran-Malhut for the construction of school building/ play ground and is being encroached by the local residents.
