Bullet riddle body of youth recovered in Pulwama

SRINAGAR, Aug 13: A bullet-riddled body of a 24-year-old youth was recovered in Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Monday morning.
Reports said the bullet-ridden body of 24-year-old Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Gani Bhat was recovered from a field in Bunpora Murran village of Pulwama.
An official said that the body of the youth was found by the locals and accordingly informed the police. He said that the police recovered the body soon after information from the nearby fields of Murran.
After conducting all legal formalities including the postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family for last rites, he said.
Bhat was running spectacle repairing shop at Anantnag. A case under relevant sections of law has been initiated and further investigations has been started, he said.
Meanwhile, Police issued a statement regarding the incident and blamed militants for Bhat's killing. A police spokesman in a statement said that militants in Murran Pulwama yesterday night barged inside the house of Gulzar Ahmad Bhat t resident of Murran Pulwama and abducted him.
"Later on, Police recovered the bullet-riddled dead body of Gulzar from the nearby fields of Murran Pulwama," the police spokesman said. "Initial investigation in the matter suggests that in this incident Zahoor Thokar & Showkat Dar led a group of proscribed militant outfit HM are involved in this killing." said police spokesman in a statement.
