Illegal appointments by BMO Khansahib: Aggrieved move to SIC

Budgam, Aug 14: As Block Medical Officer (BMO) continues to play hide and seek over the RTI application filed to seek details of backdoor appointments in the medical block Khansahib , the aggrieved unemployed Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHW) have filed complaint before the State Information Commission (SIC) against the BMO who is also designated Public Information Officer (PIO). The aggrieved unemployed FMPHW lead by one Rubeena Rashid have knocked the door of SIC as BMO failed to provide information as expeditiously as possible. Information seekers allege that information they have sought is not at all to be created or collected as the same is available with BMO, but even after two weeks the officer failed to provide the same to them. The illegal appointments under Hospital Development Fund (HDF) in Khansahib have become talk of the town. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam as already reported is under tremendous pressure to show door to these backdoor appointees. The axe will not only fall on illegal appointees of Khansahib but appointees of other blocks of district like Chadoora, Beerwah, Chrar Sharief, Magam may also be shown the door who have been appointed during last five years in the district in violation to norms.
The CMO Budgam and BMO Khansahib (present and past) are under severe pressure/criticism from authorities for making these illegal appointments. Deputy Commissioner Budgam has already written to CMO Budgam to inquire about the matter. The BMO is yet to respond to DCs letter which she had market to CMO Budgam a week back.
As reported already BMO Khansahib who is the custodian of all the records and official documents in his block had denied to share information under RTI Act regarding backdoor appointment of more than 100 persons under hospital development fund (HDF). The information was sought by some aggrieved persons of Khansahib who allege that no advertisements were made prior to these appointments. An application under RTI was filed last month and information seekers sought information invoking legal term as expeditiously as possible. Information seekers say that information is neither to be created or collected by the BMO who is also the designated PIO under RTI Act in medical block Khansahib.
The aggrieved candidates have filed a complaint before DC Budgam who has directed CMO to intervene.
