Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Aug 16: In a major embrassment for the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), its state youth General Secretary voted for a National Conference leader in an online poll on social networking site "Facebook" wherein the audience were asked to choose between the incumbent Congress MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and National Conference leader Pyarae Lal Sharma with the option none of the above in the form of "Nota".
As per the details available with Early Times, National Conference Youth leader Raja Thakur created the poll on Facebook asking the people to choose among the two leader who they think will be the next MLA from Inderwal and to everybofy's surprise, the BJP youth General Secretary Ashish Sharma from Kishtwar voted for Pyarae Lal Sharma who parted ways from Congress party recently and joined the National Conference at Jammu.
BJP in 2014 Assembly filed Tariq Hussain Keen from Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar District in which keen manage to get around 14000 votes.
As soon as soon people noted the major goof up by the BJP youth leader, several people pounder on him and launch scathing attack on him for supporting NC leader instead of voting in favour of party candidate in the form of "Nota".
Before joining the National Conference, Sharma was accused of working at beheast of the BJP and RSS and playing into their hands to divide the votes in Inderwal on the name of religious following which BJP leader and former Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma and Shakti Parihar had to clerify in a public function held at Kishtwar.
As soon as the issue started gaining heat, the National Conference youth leader disabled the poll as well as his Facebook page for the time being.
Speaking to "Early Times" Youth Congress leader Sharik Saroori said that all this authenticated that BJP is playing a religious card to divide the voter in Inderwal constituency.
He said that people of Inderwal constituency right from beginning defeated the communal forces who were seeking vote on the name of religion and caste. He said that Congress party will fight and will continue to fight the elections on developmental agenda added that Congress party will continue to work for upliftment of all the sections of the society not only in Kishtwar District, but in state as whole. He said that BJP and RSS are trying hard to divide the secular febrics in Inderwal, but people had always defeated them by reposing the faith on the leadership of MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori added that the elections are being won through hardworking and dedication towards public and not by creating polls on social media. He said however the online poll has once again exposed the BJP in real sense.
