Early Times Report
anantnag, Aug 18: Instances of candidates submitting dubious Schedule Tribe (ST) certificates in recently held recruitment drives have come to light in south Kashmir's Bijbehara area.
The district administration acting upon the complaints have now kept at least seven certificates in abeyance and process to recover these ST certificates from the candidates has begun.
Official sources told Early Times that authorities at tehsil Bijbehara have issued ST certificates illegally to seven candidates, and on the basis of these fake certificates names of these candidates have appeared in recently declared teachers' provisional list.
They said that few days ago a group of youth from village Dadoo Marhama and other villages mainly representing tribal community approached Tehsildar Bijbehara with a written complaint that ST certificates have been fraudulently in favour of undeserving candidates.
Based on this complaint authorities have detected the fraud and seven such certificates have been kept in abeyance.
"Pursuant to the receipt of complaints against the genuineness of the ST certificates and prima facie their doubtful nature below mentioned certificates are kept under suspension with immediate effect," reads the order issued by Tehsildar Bijbehara.
The ST certificates have been issued in favour of Sartaj Ahmad Khan Gojar, Furkan Ahmad Khan Gojar, Showket Hussain Khan Gojar, Neelofar, Irfan Ahmad Khan Gojar, Jahangir Ahmad Khan Gojar and Ashiq Hussain Khan Gojar, according to the documents.
A senior official told Early Times that process of recovering these certificates from the candidates have been expedited and strict action against will be taken against all those officials involved in the scam.
