Early Times Report

Vijaypur, Aug 19: Violating the Government order to observe State mourning for seven days by flying National Flag at half-mast as a mark of respect for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the management of Government Degree College Samba ignored the order and flew National Flag at full mast in total disrespect to the 'Bharat Rattan'.
The incident exhibited negligence and callousness of the college management. Showing strong resentment against the Principal of GDC Samba for bringing disrepute to the educational institution, a Congress youth leader Rajan Sharma said that despite the Governor's Order to observe State mourning as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, it has been decided that seven days of state mourning will be observed throughout State from August 16-22, but Principal brushing aside the directive and the sentiments of the people, flew National Flag on the College building at full mast.
Meanwhile, President of Border Welfare Association and Social Activist Avinash Choudhary took strong notice of the act by the management of the GDC Samba and termed that it is the duty of the Principal to ensure the compliance of the Government order. "Even foreign countries observing mourning in the respect of former Prime Minister but some people bring disrepute due to their act and strong action should be taken against the Principal," he said. The General Secretary of NPP Rajesh Padgotra, also denounced the shame full of Principal and demanded action.
