EAF questions extension to Pr CCF, urges Governor to intervene | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 20: Environment Awareness Forum (EAF) has urged upon the Governor NN Vohra to allow retiring officers to vacate important public dealing offices on their respective superannuation dates more so in J&K Forest and Ecological Department where the incumbent present Pr CCF is being granted extension in service without any cogent reason.IFS carder super scale officers are already in stagnation. As per reports the blue eyed boy has only carried on the routine job during his long tenure and nothing remarkable has been done to save the forests from poachers and smugglers in the state. In a review meeting of the Forum under chairmanship of Bushan Lal Parimoo President Environment Awareness Forum, where various representatives from the Environment related field and other civil society members deliberated upon the scenario under the Governor’s Rule the approach to save Environment. It was observed there is dire need to revamp the Forest, Environment and Ecology Department which leaves much to be desired . Stagnation at senior level governance had adversely affected growth and protection of Forests ecology fauna and flora. There is no shortage of well trained senior cadre forest officers in the department and it would amount to transgress right of better officers languishing on non functional posts. EAF has learnt that the incumbent under question is sponsored by a political luminary from New Delhi who allegedly managed his posting as top chief of Forests in the beginning ignoring better qualified state subject officers. |
