8/20/2018 11:52:42 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 20: A senior BJP leader, who was minister in the previous PDP-BJP government, has labelled serious allegations of pocketing funds worth crores. This amount was reportedly collected by party former ministers and leaders from through different "means" as "party fund".
Credible sources said after formation of PDP-BJP government in J&K, a senior party leader had directed all party ministers and leaders to start fund collection campaign to collect huge funds for the party for constructing offices at all districts and also for the next Parliamentary and Assembly elections. On the directions of this leader, who claimed to be most honest, all party ministers and leaders indulged into generating funds through "legal and illegal means". "These directions had given free hand to the leaders and ex-ministers to indulged into corrupt practices to generate party funds", sources said and added that in the name of party funds leaders and ex-ministers had collected huge amount and a portion of it was deposited with the party as per direction of the that so-called 'honest' leader.
Credible sources said that after formation of new team in the state BJP, some leaders had sought details about the "party fund", worth crores, collected. They sought details about utilization of that amount but, sources said, there was no detail about amount of party fund and its utilization.
Now the same "honest" leader is under scanner for pocketing that huge fund. The issue of swindling fund is likely to emerge as a big controversy in the BJP in the days to come.
