Poonch, Aug 21: Labourers working in CAPD store in Mendhar have alleged that they have not been paid their dues for the last seven months including the loading and unloading charges sources said here today.
They said that their plight was not heard by the concerned authorities through they look the matter with them several times. "We had been denounced by the Sub divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dr Tanveer Ahmed Khan when we urged him to redress the issue", said CAPD labourers president Khadim Hussain, adding he asked us to vacate his office as he cannot do anything in their favour", Khading added that SDM resorted to rude behaviour with them.
Early Times when contacted Assistant Director of food for comments on the salary issue of the labourers he put his mobile phone on switched off mode.
Khadim said the labourers were in dire need of financial help as they had go for shopping for their households on the eve of Eid ul Azha, but due to official apathy their wages were not released and most probably their festival may go dry he added.
Khadim in an appeal has urged the district authorities and Director food and supplies Jammu to take the serious note of the matter and take steps to release the wages of labourers before the ensuing Eid festival, he added. |
