Eid-ul-Azha celebrated with religious fervour

Jammu / Srinagar, Aug 22: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across Jammu today. People in large numbers, clad in colourful dresses were seen attending congregational prayers at Eidgahs, mosques and other places.
The main congregation in Jammu was held at Eidgah, Residency road where thousands of Muslims drawn from different parts of city and outskirts offered the Eid Namaz in the morning.
On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, Inspector General of Police, Dr S D Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Vivek Gupta besides other senior functionaries of police and civil administration were also present on the occasion and exchanged Eid greetings with Muslim brethren and prayed for peace and tranquility in the State.
A spirit of festivity marked the celebrations, people exchanged greetings and large gatherings were seen at mosques which were decorated magnificently and the markets were abuzz with activity.
Meanwhile, elaborate security and other necessary arrangements were made by civil and police administration for smooth celebration of Eid festival.
-Eid-ul -Azha celebrated in Udhampur with religious fervor . on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha Muslims in Udhampur on Wednesday offered Namaz at Eidgah at Adersh Colony udhampur where thousands of Muslims offered Eid -ul -Azha Nawaz .
Muslim community celebrated Eid-ul-Adha with special prayers for Kerala flood victims today. Popularly known as Bakri Eid, the festival commemorates the sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim of his son Prophet Ismail. People offer special prayers and exchange greetings.
Zahid an Nawazi Said that The occasion of Bakri Eid is to recall these values The basic concept behind the sacrifice was about welfare of the poor and the underprivileged , special prayers offered for the residents of Kerala who are facing devastating floods," he added. Deputy Commissioner udhampur Ravinder kumar , Pawan Gupta MLA udhampur , SSP Udhampur Rayeez Bhat (IPS) , Former MLA udhampur Balwant singh Mankotia and various officers of Distt. Adm Present on this occasion and greet the people.
Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the district Ramban today. All the Mosques were decorated suiting to the occasion and markets witnessed hustle and bustle of people.
The main congregations took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban, Eidgah Gool, Eid Gah Batote and Eidgah Banihal where large number of devotees performed Nimaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, development and prosperity of society.
The people exchanged pleasantries and embraced each others. Elaborate security and other necessary arrangements were made by district administration for smooth celebration of Eid festival. Various officers from administration were also present on the occasion.
To maintain brotherhood, peace and love the celebration of Holy festival Eid- ul-Alza was held in Tiny scholars Higher secondary school Kathua . Where a special assembly was organised in the school campus to convey the significance of this pious festival to the students. Children and staff came dressed to school in the Eid clothes and looked amazing. The function is organised by Coordinator Monika sharma whereas the school and stage were creatively decorated. Children put up colourful dance show and captured the audience with 'Sufi songs' under the guidance of shanaz Malik and Naida Jyoti
On this eve, Principal of the Tiny scholar's School Kathua, Manisha Gupta spoke briefly about the importance and celebration of Eid. She said celebration of Eid is an endeavour to inculcate in the children the true spirit of religious and secularism. She encouraged children to follow the path of peace, love and friendship.Manisha Gupta extended heartiest greetings 'Eid Mubarak' to the staff, students and their families. The programme culminated with National Anthem
The Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at Eidgah at Thalori area of Vijaypur in District Samba here today.
According to the report, on this occasion Molvi Mulana Hasiz and Master Hashmali were also present during the Eid prayer, a large number of people including women and Children offered Prayers in Eidgah Thalori area of Vijaypur in District Samba. People were distributing sweets among the neighbours, relatives and friends.
The Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety throughout the Kashmir valley on Wednesday.
Thousands of animals, mostly sheep and goats, were sacrificed on the occasion.
Lakhs of people, including women and children, offered prayers in mosques, Eidgah, Jamia Masjid and other religious places.
The main congregations were held at Aasar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, which houses the Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad, on the bank of Dal Lake and Historic Jamia Masjid.
Several lakhs people joined the Eid prayers at both the places.
Similar congregations were also held at Asar-e-Sharief Kailashpora, Jenab Sahib Soura, Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, Hazrat Makhdoom sahib, Hazrat Gousal Azam at Dastigeer sahib and Sarai Bala, Sheikh Nooruddin Wali Charar-e-Sharief, Sheikh Dawood Batmaloo, Syed Sahib Sonawar and Hazrat Zainuddin Wali.
People were seen distributing sweets among the neighbours, relatives and friends.
