| Protest against PDD held at Mendhar | | |  Early Times Report
Mendhar, Aug 23: Scores of residents from Saran Wali Bhatti And Gultha area of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch district staged protests against the Power Development Department Mendhar (PDD) in Saran Wali Bhatti. The local residents of the area assembled on Saran Wali Bhatti near Gultha Bridage and staged a protest against PDD authorities. Protesters under the leadership of Rameez Khan Sudan and Nadeem Khan Sudhan blocked Mendhar- Surankote Road for Five hours. They raised slogans against the senior officers of PDD for making tall promises to the public when the ground reality regarding their service is empathic.
They said that their children who are taking the study and examination are unable to prepare in the absence of power.They also said that the department has been befooling them by assuring the regular supply of electricity but on ground nothing concrete has been done and the people have been left with no other option but to come on roads, they added. Protesters alleged that there is no scheduled power supply to their localities and they demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities towards the matter. |
