Thousands attend funeral of Tangmarag Forest Employee

TANGMARAG, Aug 24: A pall of gloom descended over the family of forest employee after he was killed yesterday evening in Tangmarag area.
According to police 38- year- old forest official Tariq Ahmed Malik of Zandpal Kunzer Tangmarag was killed by militants in his home late yesterday evening.
However, today morning people from all walks of life across Tangmarag belt reached the home of slain forest employee to pay condolences to the bereaved family and to take part in funeral prayers.
Reports has said that militants barged inside the residential house of Tariq Malik that was working in Forest Department.
Sources said that people were busy in Eid celebration's after they came to know about the incident, due to which fear psychosis had gripped the residents of the area.
Some bullets were pumped into the chest of Tariq Ahmad after which he sustained critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries, said sources.
Yesterday evening sources had said that a joint team of army, police and CRPF launched manhunt to trace the assailants from the nearby forest area.
Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law.
According to police Initial investigation in the instant matter establishes the complicity of LeT terrorist Yousuf Dar alias Kantroo resident of Kawoosa Budgam in this incident.
Meanwhile Srinagar based news agency while quoting LeT outfit spokesperson has denied had in the killing.
