People allege Administration, Construction Companies responsible for inconvenience

RAMBAN, Aug 25: Thousands of vehicles were stranded after the 300 KM Jammu Srinagar National Highway was closed due to unplanned cutting of mountains by construction companies resulting heavy landslide at Ramsoo area of the district Ramban, last night. These companies by violating the terms, conditions and norms fixed on National and International levels by the different authorities.
Seva Singh Bali a local alleged that we are suffering from last many years in the name of National Projects, this is actual happenings in front of administration, but the administration become the mute spectator.
Bali further said that the people of Ramban are not against the development but there must be implementation of agreement signed between government and construction companies.
He added that the district administration should take action against these construction companies as due to the casual approach towards construction of National Project of Four laning by construction companies effects then lives of people on daily basis. According to the traffic police officials the traffic movement has been stopped from both sides where thousands of vehicles including heavy and light motor vehicles are stranded on the National Highway.
In this context, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic National Highway Shakti Pathak said that after the landslide incident took place last night, the traffic been stopped at different areas across the National Highway including Jakhani, Nagrota, Qazigund, Chandrokot and Ramban besides other places.
SSP said that the men and machineries were on job to remove the debris from NH44 for opening of road for vehicular traffic.
On other hand passengers expressed their anger and said that they are facing many problems as they are stranded since 10 pm last night, still there is no hope of opening the National Highway.
They urged the administration to provide essential facilities to the stranded people and make every effort to open the National Highway as soon as possible.
