Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 25: At a time when the state government officials are known to throw peoples vows to the cold storage, undermining the very essence of their redressal, the new governor soon after assuming office seems to have made the issue in question his top priority.
As per the reports coming to fore, Governor Satya Pal Malik has given stern directions to the state dispensation that the public grievance system has to be rejuvenated and overhauled at large so that the common masses are no longer made to move from pillar to post to get issues resolved.
It has given such a major development witnessed in the very first week of new governor in office has subtly hinted how the future course of action in the governor administration is going to be. A senior official within the administration divulged that clear cut directions have been issued to the state government departments that the dilatory mode of functioning within the official machinery will not be tolerated and shirkers known for their bizarre style of functioning will be taken to the task.
Reports informed that the graft related cases piling up at the offices of anti graft bodies are being reinvestigated thoroughly so that those who have been cryptic in safe guarding the corrupt officials are likely going to face the music.
The developmental projects in limbo due to the paucity of funds and work force are being commissioned afresh and the dead lines that have so far been missed are being rescheduled and tough directions have been passed on to the concerned officials that missing of the deadlines shall not be tolerated in any way.
The governor in his maiden meetings has been categorical and lucid enough to make his voice clear about how things are needed to be set in order in the state where in good governance has been alien and unknown for decades.
"From addressing the grievances filed by common masses at the grievance cell to finalization of the projects that have been gathering dust on the shelves of the government offices, the government has made it ample clear that non functioning of the government will no longer be tolerated and that pacing up of developmental projects is going to be his top priority," says an official privy to the development.
He added that a meet of all the major head is being held at the civil secretariat on August 27 where in several vital decisions pertaining to the functioning of the government are being taken. There are also high chances that some senior officers may be transferred from their position and new departments are going to be assigned to several others.
The main objective says a senior official, is to stream line the system and ask the dead wood and non performers to take rest.
