| Two boys drown, another rescued | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 26: In a tragic incident two boys died on the spot while another was rescued in critical condition when all the three friends were caught in strong current of water in a river near Mendhar and were drowned.
Police said all the three were resident of village Dabraj village, in Mendhar tehsil of district Poonch and were identified as Mohammed Shakeel, 20, son of Mohd Bashir, Omar Farooq, 15, son of, Mohd Farooq both died on the spot and Waseem Akram, 18, son of, Mohd Shabir. While taking bath a strong current of water washed them away to some distance and on the alarm raised by them people rushed to the spot but could save only Waseem Akram who is also critical.
Police also reached the spot and with the help of locals shifted Akram to sub district hospital at Mendhar from where he was referred to district hospital at Rajouri in serious condition.
Police after legal formalities handed over the bodies to the legal heirs for their last rites and also started investigation under section 174 Cr PC. |
