Reasi, Aug 26: Alleged nexus between Forest, Revenue officials and land mafia has facilitated grab of over 1000 kanals of the Forest land at Shiv Khori (Ransoo) and Sanged road of Tehsil Pouni District Reasi. The lical administration seems in no mood to take note.
Sources told Early Times that the land mafia has been allegedly executing encroachment of Forest land in collusion with some corrupt officials of Forest and Revenue Departments in lieu of money. "The land gabbers have been covering Forest land by creating boundary and then selling the same to the buyers and the revenue officials are fully helping the mafia by executing registration on the name of buyers," they alleged further adding that at many place some structures have been raised by the mafia on the instances of Forest Department' officials, who have been getting huge share for the scam. The land mafia is filling their coffer by selling Forest land but the senior officials of the concerned have kept mum for obvious reason.
A junior official Forest Department on the condition of anonymity informed the Early Times that they can't do anything in this issue due to pressure of their senior officers, who have been directing them not taken any action against the encroachment. The local correspondent made many attempt to contact the senior officer of the Forest Department for his comment, but he couldn't be contacted. |
