8/28/2018 11:26:25 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28: Even as his party swears to safeguard Article 35 A and hearing for the case has been round the corner, a senior most leader of the same party has been missing from his political turf in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The politician, who in the past held a key chair in the state government, has "secretly" left for the United States of America.
Sources said the neta is holidaying in US to attend wedding of a close friend of his, whose invite he couldn't turn down. Recently their picture at the wedding had gone viral on the social media setting the rumor mills rife.
Though through his twitter account the politician is giving an impression that he is in the state, sources said he left for the US around a week ago.
Interestingly the politician was so busy with his US trip that he didn't even utter a word when his father and another senior politician was attacked at a shrine in Srinagar on the day of Eid.
Sources said the party leadership is not happy with his decision of their senior colleague to leave the state for a wedding ceremony when case pertaining to Article 35 A was scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court.
"If our party claims to be ready to sacrifice everything for the safeguard of Article 35 A, why didn't he sacrifice the wedding invite and stay back," said a senior leader of the party.
Sources said the invitation from the "friend was so strong" that the politician couldn't reject it.
The politician and his friend have been in news for the last over six years, when the duo was allegedly seen going around together in Kashmir.
"Gulmarg was their favorite place in Kashmir," said a senior official, who was looking after their hospitality, on the condition of anonimity.
Despite repeated attempts the politician couldn't be contacted for comments.
