Ranger calls shots in Forest Deptt
Despite transfer, not relieved
8/29/2018 11:16:20 PM
Early Times report

Jammu, Aug 29: Despite transfer of a Ranger after he allowed a vehicle loaded with willow through the entrance of Lakhanpur toll post, forest officials have failed to relieve him.
"The Ranger was transferred to another district around two months after the Toll Post Officer Lakhanpur lodged a written complaint against him for smuggling willow in a vehicle", said sources, adding that the department is reluctant to relieve him.
Sources said that the influential Ranger has been posted in home district for more than last three years. He was allegedly involved in many illegal activities.
"After the incident, the toll post officers gave written complaint to the concerned police station against him", said sources.
They maintained that after the complaint, the Ranger was transferred to another district two months ago, but he is still managing affairs and influenced the authorities for not relieving him.
If sources are to be believed, previous officers of the toll post seized his personal vehicle loaded with polythene which he was trying to smuggle in the state from Lakhanpur and the Vigilance Organisation also initiated inquiry against him.
"The influence of the Ranger is so high that despite severe complaints of corruption against him he is not being relieved", said sources, asking that if the department transferred him on complaint basis then why have authorities failed to relieve him.
