APS Kaluchak organizes WCIFL Football Tournament

Jammu, Aug 30: Army Public School Kaluchak organized a four days Western Command Inter Formation Level Football Tournament in which APS Clement Town emerged victorious and lifted the winners' trophy.
The tournament commenced from August 27 and culminated on August 30 in which five schools participated including APS Dhaula Kuan, APS Clement Town , APSYol Cantt, APS Jalandhar Cantt and APS Kaluchak.
The Competition witnessed dominant performances as well as very close and nail biting finishes. It was head to head between the teams of APS Dhaula Kuan and APS Clement Town who had qualified for the finals. The students of APS Clement Town proved their tenacity by registering a 4-3 victory over APS Dhaula Kuan . The title of best player was bagged by Master Sang Lura of APS Dhaula Kuan.
The efforts of the players were appreciated and the winners were accoladed by the Chief Guest, Major Gen Sanjay Singh SM, VSM, Patron Army Public Schools. He reiterated the fact that football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority. Brig RK Prusty, Chairman APS Kaluchak lauded the ball control, dribbling skills, passing accuracy, body control, tactical knowledge, risk assessment, endurance, agility, coordination and spatial awareness of the participants. Hem Lata Vishen encouraged the students with motivation laden words and reiterated that sports events are meant to showcase the collective talent of the youth rather than only recognizing winners.
