9/2/2018 9:50:45 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: In J&K political governments ever after 1983 had been following democracy as government 'of the people, by the people' pitifully ignoring the crucial 'for the people' as irrelevant. S.S. Bijral Former IGP, State Spokesperson said Governor Sat Paul Malik has brightened hopes of state netizens by setting 'Government For The People'' as his governance charter.
Calling it a travesty of justice when political parties once voted to power truncated democracy definition as government 'of the people, by the people', through their acts of omission and commission, Bijral hailed incumbent governor for declaring unambiguously his governance charter: 'government for the people', honouring democracy in its holistic meaning 'of the people , by the people, for the people.'
Governor on first day in civil secretariat addressing his advisors, chief secretary , other administrative secretaries set the governance ball rolling saying: focus on people centric governance; you have status, power to solve people problems, go to the people; advisors shall visit district headquarters once a week; Deputy Commissioners to keep one day in week to listen to people grievances and to inform them about the outcome; focus to be on working through transparency, construction to promote a culture of excellence in governance characterised by integrity and high standard of deliverance.
