Jammu, Sept 5: Teachers day was celebrated across various educational institutions of the state with various programmes organized to mark the day. The Teachers and students of the educational institutes threw light on the life and achievements of Dr. S. Radha Krishnan in whose honour the birth day is being celebrated as Teacher's day.
A function was organized at National College of Education NCE, Purkhoo Camp, Domana, to mark the day.
Programme was brought up with lighting of lamp. Cake was cut by the principal, Dr. Manju Dwivedi with faculty members. Students of first semester and Third semester sang the songs and poems in honour of teaching.
Govt. College of Education celebrated the day in the college for spreading for message of respect for a teacher who is a nation builder.
On the occasion the pupil teachers of the college organized a colorful programme which began with the tribute to the great teacher
For the function the chief guest was the Principal of the college Dr. Sangita Nagari who wished all on the day and highlighted the importance of a teacher as a nation builder for the promotion of any country.
Modern Secular Institute of Education High School, Laxmipuram- Chinore, Jammu, celebrated the day. The students presented various cultural programs which were liked by the teachers & students who had come to participate in the function.
The Director of the school K. K. Rao explained the teacher-student relations in the present changed scenario. He emphasized that the teacher is now a guide and a friend in modern concept rather than a hard task master as he used to be. In the end the Management of the school distributed some refreshment to the students.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowabad (GGHSS) organized a colourful programme to pay floral tributes to Dr Radhakrishnan on Teachers day. Anita Zutshi highlighted the dignity of this nobel profession.
This day was also observed as National Environment Day wherein an interactive session was held with the students about their role in maintaining ecological balance by adopting various methods like planting of trees. Cleaning of their surroundings so that natural clamaties like flash floods could be prevented.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj a social volunteer organisation celebrated "Teacher's Day" in its office cum Library at Bhour camp.
Members explored the message and lesson - 'Love teachers and respect teachers' to have the educated and scientific world generation.
Teachers are the true makers of characteristic citizens of the country. Teachers teach and explore education by using which we can change the world. Education makes the humanity as humane. On the occasion members of ABS wished happy teachers' day to the teaching faculty and remembered the teachings of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Government Degree College Udhampur celebrated the day by organizing a function. The programme started with the lightening of ceremonial lamp followed by Guru Vandana by NSS volunteers Vijay Kumar and Arjun Kumar of B.A.SEM-III "Naman karoon shree Guru Charna; mangal karna bhava bhaya harna".. (Dr.) Udhay Bhanu, Principal of this college expressed and extended a inspiring lecture on the life and contribution of Dr. S. Radhakrishanan.
Teachers' Day was celebrated in IECS Polytechnic, Purkhoo Camp, Domana with gaiety and great enthusiasm.

Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Teacher day with great zeal and fervour on September 5th 2018 in the college Auditorium. The function was presided over by Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college. The celebration began with lighting of the lamp and giving tributes to Dr.S Radhakrishnan. Er. Arun Bangotra while addressing the entire college highlighted the role of teachers in the nation building and lauded entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the college phenomenal success.
Teachers' Day was celebrated at Sainik School Nagrota with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration began with senior cadets of Class XII welcoming the teachers and the Chief Guest, Capt (IN) A Muthuraman, Principal with bouquets and warm greetings. The students presented gala show of cultural items in the form of skits, songs, dances to show their respect, gratitude and love for their teachers. The senior students were dressed up as glorious teachers and played their roles. All the teachers were relaxed and enjoyed the function. They also played lot of games. This is followed by lunch organised by the school management as a token of appreciation for rightly called 'Beacons of light'.

The students spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of teachers and their role in making their desirable personalities. All Students of Senior K.G class were dressed up in colourful costumes depicting their role model "Teachers". They were given demonstration by the facilitators about the importance of the day and the role of teacher in moulding our personality. Students also behaved like their teacher in the class while playing the role of a teacher.
Teachers' Day was celebrated by the students and staff of Alexander Memorial School, Jammu with great zeal and gaiety.

The day began with a beautiful cultural program starting up with a speech of "Importance of teachers", which made the teachers realized how much their dear students love them and respect them.
