| SAD National holds meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: A meeting of working committee and core group Jammu of Shiromani Akali Dal National was held in Jammu under the Chairmanship of Prof. Amrik Singh Sathi a senior member of the organization wherein 16 out of total 21 members were present.
The members in the meeting expressed their serious concern regarding the slow activities of the organization for any reason particularly taking into account the present political turmoil of the state. After having thread bare discussions, the members vested with power under Chapter-V Section-2 of the bye-laws/constitution dissolved the Central body of the organization unanimously and nominated Prof. Amrik Singh Sathi, S. Harbans Singh and Mohinder Singh Mehta to reorganize the party within a period of next three months after obtaining the opinions/suggestions of various sections and intelligence of Sikh Community within the J&K State. Mohinder Singh Mehta has been nominated as Spokes Person of the organization.
In another significant decision, all the members unanimously changed the name of the organization and resolve to work under the name and style of National Akali Dal instead of Shiromani Akali Dal National.
The three nominated members also entrusted with the job to re-write the bye-laws under the new name of the organization and also prepare a "Vision" document as per the aspiration of minorities in the state particularly Sikh Community. Resolution passed by the member regarding said context will be sent to Dy. Commissioner's of all the districts of the states and various Govt. Agencies for information as in future all the activities/correspondence will be carried under the name of National Akali Dal. |
