SRS asks Dr Jitendra to make Saddal-Panjar as 'Modern' village
9/6/2018 10:32:52 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 7: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) on Thursday asked Union Minister and Member Parliament from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh to visit flood-devastated village of Saddal-Panjar in district Udhampur which was adopted by him some four years back with a plan to develop it as the first modern "Smart Village".
Addressing media persons here, SRS State President Rajiv Mahajan said that despite promises made by Dr. Singh, after four years, he has not visited that village since then and as a result of which promised 135 hutments and 135 toilets for the resettlement of villagers has only remained on papers so far as no action has been taken on ground till date and the residents are living in inhuman conditions in camps at Udhampur, Mahajan added.
People now have been forced to live in small compartments, separated by plywood, in a large cemented hall near a Nallah in Udhampur.
As many as 132 families are leading a miserable life and their anger against the State Government is quite visible, he added. Mahajan further said that the tin sheds where these aggrieved people are forced to live get hot in summers and cold in winters, that is why most of the affected families preferred not to stay in these governments sheds.
