AJKYF extends support to protesting SSA/ReT teachers

Jammu, Sept 7: All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) extended its support to the ongoing protest and hunger strike of SSA/ReT teachers led by Teacher Joint Action Committee (TJAC) for implementation of 7th Pay Commission to all the SSA/ReT Teachers and relocation of their salaries under MHRD.
Nakul Sharma, Spokesperson, AJKYF while addressing, extended the support of AJKYF to the ongoing protest and hunger strike and assured the members of TJAC and the teachers that the federation along with all its members, volunteers and supporters will bolster up the steps and succor for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission to ReT/SSA teachers. Sharma urged upon the State Governor not to discriminate between the SSA/ReT teachers and General Line Teachers as per the law "Equal Wages for Equal Work" settled by the Supreme Court and every benefits and facilities which are provided to the General Line Teachers should be given to SSA and ReT teachers and further appealed to the Union HRD Ministry to relinquish the salaries of SSA/ReT from Centre budget to State budget. Sharma also condemn the shameful incident of lathi charge upon SSA/ReT teachers while having peaceful protest on the eve of Teachers Day and warned state administration not to intimidate and harass the statutory pedagogue of our society depriving them of their constitutional rights.
Prominent among those who deliberated were Arjun Sharm, State Convener, Sanjay Sandhu, Amit Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Fazal-ul-Haq Choudhary, Haroon Rashid among other.
