JTC appeals Election Commissions to dissolve State Assembly
9/8/2018 8:37:07 PM
JAMMU, Sept 8: Jagti Tenement Committee appealed Election commission of India and election Commission of J&K for dissolving the Assembly which has been kept under suspended mode and holding of Assembly elections immediately for ensuring development of the State.
A meeting was held by Jagti Tenement Committee Jagti under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandit and discussed different issues in the meeting including present scenario of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandita said that since suspended mode of Assembly has not proved for the developments of the state as the Assembly needs to be dissolved. He demanded inclusion of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant community in their respective voter lists enabling them to use their franchise during elections. About 1.50 lakh voters have been deleted from the voter lists of different Assembly/ Parliamentary constituencies in Kashmir valley which are required to be re-figured in the respective voter lists so that the community is not ignored and deprived of right of their vote.
He said that now more than 29 years have passed when the Kashmiri Pandit community was forced for enmass migration from their native localities in Kashmir valley and to migrate to Jammu and other parts of the country. The community has been put to huge sufferings due to their migration and the community was to ensure return and rehabilitation by bringing up satellite townships for permanent rehabilitation of the Migrant community but nothing in this regard has been done by the Governments since 1990.
He further appealed to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir state for early return and rehabilitation of this migrant community in Kashmir valley by bringing up Satellite townships enabling this community to live peacefully a dignified living.
