| Court grants 7 days remand of 'self styled' guardian of un-registered home | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: Special Mobile Magistrate Kathua today granted seven days of remand of Anthony Thomas of Kerala who was arrested last late evening after district administration raided an 'un-registered' orphanage at Ward No. 4 in Nag Nagar area of Kathua while rescued 22 children (8 girls and 12 boys) from the illegal home which was being reportedly run illegally for last 4 years. Police sources said that a case under FIR no. 334/18 under sections 376 and 323 of RPC, 6/10/12 JKPCSOVO Act at police station Kathua. It is pertinent to mention here that following reports of sexual harassment with children in the 'illegal' orphanage which was being run in a rented house since long.
Police sources further said that scrutiny of hard disk of computer and other equipments which were seized from the illegal orphanage is on for further investigation. |
