VOJ produces challan against JE SSA

Jammu, Sept 8: Vigilance Organization Jammu has produced challan against Darminder Singh the then JE Sarv Shiksha Abyan (SSA) Bhatyas Zone Tehsil Gandoh before the Special Judge Anti-Corruption Doda.
The challan was produced in case FIR No.02/2018 P/S VOJ u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt.2006 & Section 4-A J&K P.C Act (Amendment Act-2014). Brief facts of the case are that on 18-01-2018 a written complaint in English version was lodged by the complainant namely Bashir Ahmed S/O Mohd Abdullah R/O Manoo Tehsil Gandoh District Doda with Vigilance Organization, Jammu against Shri Darminder Singh JE. SSA Bhatyas Zone Tehsil Gandoh District Doda alleging therein that the (complaint) was working as a Labour Supplier with education department Bhatyas Zone since one year.
The complainant has executed the construction work of Upper Primary School Shairpura Manoo School Building in Tehsil Gandoh and had completed the same.
Payment of Rs. 4 lakh as third installment was pending to him with the education department and for the release / pass of the third installment, the said JE demanded Rs.35000/- as bribe from him. The said JE refused to provide him / pass payment of Rs. 4 lacs and insisted the complainant to provide the bribe amount of Rs (35000) for release / pass of said payment.
The Complainant further alleged that an amount of Rs. 2 lakh and 40000/- thousand was also pending payment against Jaffer Iqbal S/O Mohd Ibrahim R/O Manoo against the executed work of Government Middle School at Jall Tehsil Gandoh for which the said JE demanded Rs.20000/- from him (Jaffer Iqbal) for passing / releasing of payment.
As alleged by the complainant in his complaint the said JE told the complainant that he is proceeding to Jammu and the amount of Rs.35000 as well as bribe amount of Rs.20000 on behalf of Jaffer Iqbal be paid to him by the complainant at Jammu on 18.01.2018.
The said JE further told him (complainant) that Jaffer Iqbal should be asked not to come at Jammu and Rs. 20000 as bribe will be received by him also through him (complainant) at Jammu. The complainant in his complaint requested for taking legal action against the corrupt JE under law.
During the investigation a successful trap was laid against the accused JE Darminder Singh of Sarv Shiksha Abyan (SSA) and he was apprehended red handed by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification of Rs.55000/- from the complainant Bashir Ahmed.
After completion of the investigation the case was processed for obtaining approval from the competent authority and after obtaining the approval, Challan of the case was produced against the said JE Darminder Singh of SSA, Next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for 26.09.2018.
