LC hires 'controversial' agency to conduct exams for various posts, ignores SSB

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 8: The Legislative Council has allegedly ignored the State's own recruiting agency (Service Section Board) for conducting written exams for various posts advertised a few day ago, hired a private company for the process. Shockingly it was the same company which had conducted the exams for KVIB and later the entire process evoked controversy.
Sources told Early Times that the Secretary Legislative Council, who is also the Law Secretary, has been given the additional charge of LC, created some posts for various positions in Legislative Council before going to Canada for official assignment.
"The posts were advertised under LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL/Estt/Advt.No.01/2018 DATED: 04-09-2018 for total 28 posts and the assignment for conducting of written exams, were given to a private company overlooking State' own recruiting agency (Service Selection Board).
The private which was given the job of conducting written exams was same company which had also conducted exams for KVIB last year and later the entire process came under controversy," they said further adding that interestingly the Secretary LC was also the controller exams and he had written a letter to CID that he had come to know about some lapses in the exams through media and requested CID to conduct investigation of the matter, but till date no inquiry report has come in this connection.
Despite all these facts, he again allotted the job of conducting exams to the same private company, which had raised some serious question marks on intention of the LC officials.
They further said that the already the official was handling the charge of Law Secretary yet he was given additional charge of the Secretary LC, ignoring many deserving officials, only due to his close proximity with the previous government. "Lakhs of rupees has to be paid to the private agency for conducting of written exams but no faith was reposed on the State's own recruiting agency, which has an expertise in conducing such exams," they informed.
