ISM Deptt in newly created districts runs without ambulance facilities

Jammu, Sept 9: The Minister of successive governments claimed that health sector is the highest priority of their government and people will witness major changes in this sector but ISM department exposed all claims as years lapse of newly districts established, the department still runs without ambulance services.
According to sources, couple of years back government had sanctioned one ambulance for ISM department to each district but so far the ambulance not reached to districts reason best known to higher authority of department concern.
However, government of Jammu and Kashmir plans to revamp the health sector across Jammu and Kashmir but the ISM department has been always ignored.
"Whenever we have to get the medicine from the district store to the concerned dispensaries, we carry that medicine by our own expenses and also in our own vehicle. We have not received any single penny from the department," wishing anonymity an ISM doctor said.
They further said that despite the fact that the employees of ISM department performing Amarnath Yatra Duties every year. Astoundingly, the employees from Allopathic received all allowance but ISM employees not received for the last many years.
When asked higher authority about the allowance, the officials replied no allowance was released at the end of government.
It is pertinent to mention here that few years back government of Jammu and Kashmir have created so many new Districts across the Jammu and Kahsmir, but No DDO office was established in any new district.
"In some districts only nodal officers are working without having the powers." Meanwhile in varoius Public Health Centres, which are under the health department, several Ayush doctors and Para Medical staff are working.
Director General ISM was not available for comments despite repeated calls.
