Early Times Report

Kathua, Sept 9: In a shocking revelation in the infamous case of child abuse at an orphanage that rocked Kathua recently, district administration, in its complaint to the police, on Saturday said that as per the statement of the victim girls, they were being raped under the influence of drugs administered through candies and chocolates.
The complaint, the copy of which is available with Early Times, was forwarded to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kathua by a team of five senior officers of district administration who had raided the "illegal orphanage" occupied by Anthony Pastor.
As many as 20 minors including eight girls and 12 boys were rescued by the team following the complaint filed by their teachers at a government school.
The victims while narrating the pain and agony inflicted upon them daily in the orphanage also alleged that the accused Anthony Pastor used to undress them and touch their private parts besides forcing them to touch his private parts with the intention of outraging their modesty.
Another spine-chilling revelation came to fore from the complaint that the accused would show them porn videos in his phone and on his desktop and if any of the resisted the unwelcome advances of Antony Pastor, he would undressed them and beat them badly.
"The statements of boys are no different. They stated that they were also beaten naked in front of everyone.
Moreover, they stated that the condition of the girls residing in the premises was worse as they said that "Ladkiyon ke saath ganda kaam kiya jata hai (girls are treated badly)".
Besides this the children stated that they were threatened not to disclose their plight to anyone otherwise they will face dire consequences," the complaint said.
The police sources said Anthony Pastor, who has been arrested, was a resident of Kerala who had come to Kathua in 1994. "He started the construction of building for illegal orphanage on the land acquired by a local resident in 2008 but started running it four years ago," sources said.
A case against the accused has been registered at police station Kathua under section 376 and J&K Protection of child from sexual violence ordinance (POCSVO). The police also conducted medical examination of all rescued children through a board of doctors.
Sources said the accused was produced before a local court on Saturday which sent him to 7-day police remand.
