JAMMU, Sept 11: A deputation of All J&K POJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum under the leadership of its President Advocate Amrik Singh Met with the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu today in his office Chamber.
The Forum members put forth before the Divisional Commissioner main issue and problem being faced by the Displaced persons while completing all the required formalities in the PRO Jammu to receive the Ex-gratia grant of Rs.5.50 lakh sanction by the Union Government.
That the deteriorating and damaged/ bad condition of the Refugee record in PRO was discussed and even some of the files are torn out and that are not visible to read. With the result the Sharnarthees are not in position to complete their files properly and ultimately they face objections. Further, some of Form "A" and Loan ledger etc record are very much enclosed in the files but not signed by the concerned authority and with the result nobody takes responsibility to confirm the same.
The second issue of Relaxation in registration of the POJK Families which had not registered in the year 1953-54 due to some unavoidable circumstances, in this regard an SRO was issued in the year 1967 by the State Government but its implementation was not made as yet.
That the third issue was to release the remaining Ex- gratia amount of Rs. 24.50 Lakh as it was already recommended by the State Government to the GOI and also promise made by the Prime Minister of India in the year 2014 in accordance by the Wadhwa Committee report.
The issue of non registered families which are settled out- side the State and originally belongs to POJK 1947 displaced persons was also discussed strongly. The members urged upon the worthy Divisional Commissioner, Jammu that the widows, old aged and Orphan persons should be treated on priority basis while completing the formalities.
The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu called his concerned Officer in his office chamber and on spot issued standing instructions for it seriousness and directed them to deal refugees problems on priority basis without any further hardships to them.
The prominent members who attended the meeting included Paramjit Singh Ex-/ Corporator (Vice President), Surjeet Sigh General Secretary, Ramneek Singh, Fatch Singh, Raja Singh all DGPC Members and Jarnail Singh General secretary of DGPC District Samba and others.
