Politicians target minority community
9/11/2018 9:58:20 PM
Early Times Report
Basholi, Sept 11: The slogan of "Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas" given by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi seems rhetoric in Basohli as the minority community is being targeted by local politicians. Number of such cases came into light in last few months wherein even houses of minority community people are being demolished forcibly, illegally.
One such case came into light when few politicians pressurized Block Development Officer BDO Basohli few months back to demolish the legal houses and shops of minority community. Few politicians with criminal intention entered into the land of One Abdul Hamid son of Satar resident of Jhankhar Basohli bearing Khasra no. 192 with JCB and started digging the land without permission and consent of the real owner. When Hamid tried to stop , the politicians started using abusive language and beat him. When he approached then Tehsildhar Basohli Jai Singh and Girdawar revenue, they showed helplessness.
Hamid was inhabitant of the land since Independence and has all types of revenue documents but revenue department officers excused that the land was sanctioned for Tractor road and did not belong to Hamid.
Hamid approached DDC Kathua and other officers for justice by claimed that he has revenue record and entire 19 marlas land belonged to him but he got nothing than assurance from district administration. He informed that whenever district administration instructed revenue department to verify the matter, revenue officers do not take any necessary action than harass the old man. Hamid disclosed that his houses have been demolished resulting his family is shifted to Madrasa and he moves from one office to another in search of justice for last three years.
