Notices issued in PIL for Constitution of Shrine Board for Machail Mata: J&K HC
9/11/2018 10:18:45 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Monday issued notices to the state government directing it to constitute Shrine Board in the Machail Mata.
This year, over 2 lakh pilgrims visited Machail Mata located in Paddar valley of Kishtwar district.
The Division Bench, comprising Justices Alok Aradhy and Sanjay Gupta, issued notices to the state in response to a Public Interest Litigation for constitution of Shrine Board at Machial Mata and a Special Investigation Team to look into the financial irregularities and assets of the Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha.
Advocates Sumit Nayyar Aditya Sharma adv.sidharth anand appearing on behalf of the petitioner, argued that the management, looking after the affairs of Machail Mata Shrine i.e Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha and the Sarv Shakti Shree Chandi Mata Mandir, Pacca Danga had been involved in a dispute for the past couple of months over getting a top position in management of affairs of the temple.
Advocate Sumit Nayyar and Aditya Sharma further submitted that few months back an FIR was also registered by one these Sanstha against the other and since then enmity had grown among them and now they are playing with the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.
"Few days back when Charri had reached the Machail Mata temple, both the organisations got involved in tussle and the members thrashed each other while the devotees were also not allowed to pay obeisance," submitted the lawyers.
they further submitted that this enmity is costing the Hindu community at large and is denting the image of the community globally.
The Advocates further said that the number of devotees are increasing every year and this year alone nearly 2.5 lakhs devotees had visited the temple and paid obeisance.
"The donations and offerings are in crores and there is no audit or financial check over the same by the government and on the other hand despite of so much collection, there are no signs of development," they added.
The Advocates said that the Division Bench, after hearing the counsel, issued notices to the state and gave six weeks time to file reply before the High court for the prayer to establish a shrine board which will look after the management of the temple and further for constituting a SIT who will look into the financial irregularities if any had taken place in the last many years.
